Recreational Board Minutes 9/26/18

Open Public Session: Tim Longnecker addressed the public in regards to an open discussion over the proposed use of SJI Park. Many residents in the neighborhood including members/supporters of the skate park committee were present and able to speak. Maureen Duffy, a Garfield Ave neighbor spoke about wanting to preserve the space. She included a survey of locations that could work for a skate park other than SJI Park.
Tim Longnecker addressed the proposal and let the public know that nothing has been approved or is set in stone for the use of the space. City Council will have the final say in what will be put in the park.
Treasurers Report: Judy Simpson: Should be ahead by $ 53.96. There were expenses of $1,193.97, but reimbursements of $1,247.93.

There are new JIF Amusement Rules, must use a vendor who is already JIF approved.
Memorial Park Changes: Baseball building went out for bid again. Should know more information by November. Sports building has been tabled. Need some input.
Panthers Bonfire: Friday 10/19/18 6-9 pm. Raindate: 10/26. Babe Ruth field cannot be used. They can use the ballfield between 1st and 3rd base closest to bikepath. This was approved by Chick Kisby. They will have about 5 food trucks ( still need board of health certs/permits)
Panthers Sign Extension: The signs along the fence of the football field can stay up until December 1st 2018.
Mainland Soccer Camp fees: John Napoli held a camp that was not approved for field use during the summer. Owes $2400 in total for camps that were held at the poplar ave field. This was not offered by MUSA. Tim said he would reach out to Leigh Ann to find out what is going on.
Website Update: the site can be used its just missing some content. Proposal of rec board mins being posted on site.
