Recreational Board Minutes 2/17/2021

Park Director Report: Laurie Montgomery: By Phone: Should have answer as to whether we can hold an Easter event at park by 3/15/2021. Require smaller groups and have children wear masks. Awaiting updated COVID regulations.
Council Report: Matt Levinson: attended late from council meeting
Approval of January Minutes: Joe 1st, Howard 2nd
Open Public Session: no one present
Old Business:
Approval of Christmas Lights replacement: Go Ahead for purchase given by City Council. Panel Tree: Denied
Field Light Controller: Still undecided about system replacement. Discussion had about city paying for initial installation for new remote panel and Recreational Board handling annual fee. Still need to get final costs.
Baseball Field Repairs: still unknown, biggest issue seems to be in infield location. City supposed to pay 80% for repairs and baseball association to pay the difference.

Easter Event: Still awaiting updated Covid restrictions for outdoor events
Field Requests: MUSA, SOJO Sports: SOJO Sports, an adult Flag Football league would like to use the fields. Field Request Denied.
MUSA field request was approved with the exception of the use of Poplar Avenue fields. That field use is a conflict and was denied.
*** New Rule was discussed and being implemented for individuals not being eligible to coach any youth sport that has been criminally charged or pled guilty to a pending sentencing. Approved notice will be given by city with updated rules and regulations pertaining to this.
